CASE STUDY OF 700 TR ABSORBPTION COOLING AT PHOENIX PAPER MILL (SIAM CEMENT GROUP)– KHON KAEN – THAILAND

Background

E3 Asia engineers were engaged by chemical plant to improvise the services to their existing 2 No x 700 TR absorption chillers since 2012. E3 Asia team delivered sincerely and diligently to the extent that their downtime was brought to the minimum and simultaneously efficiency of the plant increased. Their confidence mounted in E3 Asia’s capabilities and soon we were awarded the complete project to Design, Supply, Install and commissioning of new 700 TR absorption chiller with pressure reducing & super heater station, piping, Cooling tower, Cooling water/ Condensate pumps valuing THB 12.665 Million.

Challenges

It was not a grass root project, in fact without disturbing the process of the paper mill, we were asked to replace the 3 no York Centrifugal chillers utilizing the maximum assets available in working condition. Moreover, shutdown time was very less to connect with the existing system.

Team Action

Our team began to select the right absorption chiller model which needed higher chilled water pressure tubes (9 bar) and non-standard absorbent and refrigerant pumps so as Customer can combine its spares pool and cut down on the spares inventory. Thermax supported us by selecting and proposing the correct model with fastest delivery.

Inputs

The steam supplied though was initially informed of 5 bar saturated, knowing the process well, our engineering team dully incorporated the pressure reducing & de super heater station which ensured continuous supply of saturated steam thus avoiding the possibility of crystallization. Being single effect absorption chiller, it was absolutely necessary to keep the generator temperature closer or below 110 degree C. Installation of PRDS solved this problem. A dedicated internal circuit with the condensate tank was installed so as condensate is always available to be sprayed. In couple of minutes, steam temperature rose to crystallization level in absence of condensate to PRDS. It definitely increased our cost but plant was made crystallization free. Temperature sensors and pressure transmitters were installed for a complete automatic operation at all time. Marriage to existing utilities always offered challenges, we had to add additional cooling water pump to ensure, and Centrifugal chilling system can remain as stand by. KSB centrifugal pumps were added to the system and incorporated with the existing utilities. Cooling water piping surely brought is some worrisome time due to space constrains. However with timely intervention of our Indonesia team, it was amicably settled.

CASE STUDY FOR CENTRIFUGAL AIR COMPRESOR

E3 Asia Company Limited, Thailand as dealer for Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Limited, Pune India was instrumental of making the first sale of Turbo Centrifugal air compressor Model A3500 capable of delivering 5000 NM3/ hour with 3 stages at 100 psi nominal pressure. This is the first indigenous manufactured air compressor at their Pune Factory to be delivered to export market.

E S Fiber visions (Thailand) Company Limited is a joint venture between Fiber Visions, America (Indorama owned company) and J N C Corporation of Japan formed to manufacture bi product Fiber , high end Fiber used in hygiene products like napkins & hand gloves used by multinational company like Procter & Gamble, Unilever.

CASE STUDY ON HOT WATER RECOVERY AT KANGWAL POLYESTER

Kangwal polyester, second largest polyester plant in Thailand for textile grade polyester producing 260 Tons per day fiber and 50 Tons POY per day decided to choose E3 Asia company limited for it waste to energy project for their plant located at Phetchaburi, about 110 km from Bangkok, Thailand. E 3 Asia successfully signed a contract to supply 2 heat recovery units manufactured by Esteem power equipments, Pune India, their partnering company. For their polymerization plant, Kangwal utilizes 2 no, Thermax manufactured Rice husk fired Thermic fluid heater of 6 million kcal per hour each for the indirect heating of PTA mixed with glycol . Both the heaters are in continuous operation producing waste hot gases around 28900 kg per hour at 280 degree centigrade from each heater. E 3 Asia along with its partnering company took the challenge to recover the heat to produce hot water which may thus be sent to their existing boiler to save fuel.

E 3 Asia along with its partnering company took the challenge to recover the heat to produce hot water which may thus be sent to their existing boiler to save fuel.

E3 Asia took the challenge and designed 3 module hot water recovery which shall thus be sent to boiler raising the temperature of condensate from 85 degree C to 140 degree C for the average flow of 15 Tons per hour. This additional heat in the boiler saves 3.5 Tons of coal per day, allowing Kangwal to have the pay back within 2 years.

Kangwal engineering team led by Khun Peera Maneeratana cooperated fully with E3 Asia and Esteem to successfully implement this project which needed seamless support from them. Hot water generator was designed to connect after the multi cyclone and before the ID Fan. Designers ensured the pressure drop within the margin available in the ID fan thus saving the trouble of replacing the ID fan. E 3 Asia ensured to provide all dampers, connecting ducts and expansion joints to achieve zero delay at site due to customized and non standard supply.

The Operating site was visited by Khun Ruk Peetsai of W A Rubberemet who was impressed on the workmanship and engineering design to reward E3 Asia with new order to recover heat from Coal fired heater of 8 Million Kcal.

Kirloskar faced a tough competiton from CAMERON (TA 3000) and after lot of delberation and interaction was able to prove more power efficient than others. The deal was signed by Mr. Sanjay Grover, Head Internatioal Divison and Mr. Mahesh Nadukar, Head Air compressor division from KPCL and Mr. Ashok Mathur and Mr. Anand Sharma of E S Fibre Visions. CASE STUDY FOR 410 KW SOLAR POWER PLANT AT MEGA WECARE, MYANMAR

Since 1982 Mega Wecare headquartered in Bangkok Thailand promoting, manufacturing, selling, distributing quality pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products in over 31 countries. Myanmar is one of the priority operational country have seen nearly 30 % of the MEGA business thus asking for the best attention of the MEGA Management.

Operational over 22 years, having sales of nearly US 100 million, MEGA Myanmar had secured over 15 % of the national pharmaceutical market and deals with reputed manufacturer, facilitating their distribution such as Kimberly Clark, Pfizer, MSD, GSK, Consumer health and Sandoz.

Such as distribution network demanded a quality warehouse. MEGA invested nearly 540 Million Bhat and secured a world class warehousing facility having nearly 12000 – 15000 square meters in 2 phases.

E3 Asia with its partner company ONP imitated a dialogue with MEGA management and presented its SOLAR POWER PLANT synchronized with diesel engine set to cut power dependency on Diesel. E3 Asia was able to offer better solution compared to other competitor and secured the deal for 410 KW solar power generation at Myanmar and 1000 KW power generation at Bangpoo Industrial Estate, Thailand.

410 KW Solar power saw the installation of USA Solar World’s Panel -Sun module SW 340 XL Monocrystalline generating 340-Watt peak. 1216 No of such panels were installed and connected with 6 no x 60 KW SMA by DC cables generating 360 KW AC. E3 Asia selected these panels having module efficiency of 17.04% and degradation (temperature coefficient) of -.043%/K.

Idea here was to offer the maximum generation to client.

Panels installation was completed within 2 weeks’ time using high boom crane at site.

Considering cyclone zone, clamping ( no puncture of roof) was specially design to handle 250 Km/ hour wind speed for any eventuality. Solar power plant was completed and handed over for regular commercial production on 4th October 2018.

Power plant is equipped with Diesel Saving kit which automatically synchronize with the diesel set and save diesel in the tune of 50 liters per hour. and tons of CO2 emission.
